Maybelline : Color Tattoos

Monday, July 28, 2014

Hello lovelies!

In attempt to give Maybelline redemption and much deserve credit for good products, I thought we could move on from The Nudes and talk about the awesomeness that are the Color Tattoos.

Basically the Color Tattoos are cream shadows that claim to last 24h. Honestly, no one wears makeup for that long right? Point is, the staying power is outstanding, and I'd even say primer is optional with these. Honestly, the quality of these shadows is beyond impressive and they remain some of my favorites (all category, all price range).

They come in a variety of color and offer a few different finishes. They are sold individually and can usually be found from anywhere between 7-10$CA (depending where and when) a pop.

I seem to have stayed in the more neutral colors to build my collection as I feel they serve as a great base or an easy way to get a quick eye look that lasts on those days you just don't have time!

I also have a few brights/bolds (ish?) because I thought it would be fun to use them for a "pop of color" in certain looks.

Let's take a look at my top 5. These are the ones I would recommend, and that are still available.

1. Barely Branded: A shimmery champagne color. It really brightens up the eye. You can use it all over the lid or as a highlight shade.

2. Bad to the Bronze: A beautiful shimmery deep bronze color. Perfect for a one color look (on the lid and crease) or simply to deepen a look by applying at the outer corner and a little in the crease. It also works great as a liner on the top or bottom!

3. Tough as Taupe: A great matte taupe shade to use in a similar way as the Bad to the Bronze.

4. Vintage Plum (from their new "leather" collection) : This is just a lovely matte "old mauve" plum color. Another alternative to Tough as Taupe.

5. Painted Purple : This is great bright purple to add a pop of color to a nude look! I'll usually keep it simple on the eye and add this for punch on the lower lash line.

These shadows can simply be used with your fingers. Since I use them as a base or a quick stroke of color, they don't require much work. They're creamy so easily blendable. They can be used how ever you like, in fact the options are unlimited, I just shared with you how I usually use them :)

Overall :
Color payoff: 5/5
Texture: 5/5
Blendability : 5/5
Longevity: 5/5
Final score : 5/5 I LOVE THESE

Here's a little clip to show you how intense these are and won't smudge or budge! (Until you're ready for them to, don't worry they come off easy with remover)

If you haven't already checked them out, run! If you don't have these 5 shades in your collection, I think it's time to expand!

What are your favorite shades from this line?

Talk to you soon!
