Product Review : Freeman's Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

I was recently browsing the aisles at Walmart when this product caught my eye : Freeman's "feeling beautiful" Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask (now that's a mouthful!).

I've been a long time fan of some of their other masks, and at under 4$, how could I not try another?? Plus I loove coooaaalll! (Kudos to you if you read that à la Goldmember).

Now this mask is a little bit different, it's basically a scrub/mask. When you squeeze out of the tube it looks like thick grainy black goo.

As soon as you apply it, there is a pleasant warming sensation (not burning or stinging, just warm and it doesn't last very long). Then you get to look like a rock candy bearded lady for 5-7 minutes :)

Rock candy beard for the win! :P

When it comes time to wash it off, you rub it over your face with wet hands to take advantage of the gentle exfoliation the sugar is there to provide. It is not abrasive as the gel like texture from the charcoal component coats it nicely. Your face will instantly feel baby smooth and have a nice glow once removed.

I think this is a great addition to my mask collection as it is ideal for a "quick facial". You know, those nights when your skin is due for a pick me up but you can't commit to wash, exfoliate and then apply a mask for 20 minutes...

It definitely helps exfoliating and detoxifying the skin, but still my stubborn mind wants me to do a real thorough mask throughout the week as well.

Overall I quite enjoy this product and the price is unbeatable!

Packaging : 3/5
Effectiveness/Quality : 4/5
Price : 5/5
Final score : 4/5

Let me know if you think you might try it and if you'd like me to review other masks from that line.

I'll catch you guys on the flip side ;)
