Product Review : Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

I'm in a pretty serious relationship with Kiehl's. They truly make amazing products and they're at a reasonable price point. I have a few Holy Grail products from that brand, and with my habit of collecting masks, it's no surprise that the Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque is now one of them.

But what an adventure it was! Once upon a time, a little birdie told the world how amazing this stuff was and it literally vanished off the face of the world. SOLD OUT. EVERYWHERE. FOREVER.

Well not forever..but I waited on the wait-list for about 5 months. After such a long time, I really needed A LOT to be impressed. It still managed to blow me away (but I swear if I have to wait for it ever again...Well let's just hope it doesn't come to that).

You get a GIANT tub (150ml) for 27$CA. It's your typical clay mask (amazonian white clay), that comes in a thick gray paste. However it doesn't dry super hard and doesn't dry out your skin. There's oatmeal and aloe vera to soothe and sort of hydrate your skin. So while it does really clean out your pores and detoxifies your skin, your skin isn't left feeling stripped and parched. Amazing right?

This is the mask I use regurlarly (I try to use it twice a week) to keep my skin under control. I feel it really helps with breakouts and general oiliness (as if it almost restores the balance in my skin).

I leave it on for at least 20 minutes, you know watch an episode of something, fold laundry, terrify my boyfriend, whatever makes the time pass :)

It's not a super intense purge à la GLAMGLOW (my ultimate HG mask), but for the quantity, quality and price, it is the best thing you can do for your skin and wallet. TRUST.

Packaging : 5/5 Giant tub, easy to pick up product, seals tight so product doesn't dry out
Effectiveness/Quality : 4.5/5 Amazing results if used regularly
Price : 5/5 Honestly for the size, who cares if it's more than just a few bucks. SPLURGE.
Final score : 4.8/5

So you can go run off to Kiehl's now and thank me later! They have 2 locations in Montreal (Sainte-Catherine and in The Bay downtown as well).

You can find one near you or directly order on their website : http://www.kiehls.ca/

I'll catch you guys on the flip side ;)

    1. The GLAMGLOW is just....there are no words. It's also 76$ CA ( I think like 69$ USD) so I don't like to talk about it lol definitely won't think about it until this bad boy is done! Honestly this is a fantastic mask and I feel it's more suited for all skin types :)

  2. I don't use masks very often, this is tempting. Maybe I should invest and give this bad boy a try!
