What's in my purse : Beauty emergency kit

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Hello lovelies!

Today I wanted to share with you a few beauty products that I keep with my at ALL TIMES! So this is not my makeup bag that I bring with me on a night out or when I've done a specific makeup, just a few strategic things to make sure I'm always covered ;) Kind of like a little emergency kit.

First off, I'm not trying to brag. This bag was a gift, and it's pretty much the only purse I use because it's SOOOO gorgeous, and pretty much goes with anything. If you're curious, it's the Michael Kors Selma Top-Zip Satchel.

Ok so now that that's out of the way!

I always like to keep some essential skincare items : a lip balm, a moisturizer, a spot treatment and a hand cream.
It's no surprise I would keep my Reve de Miel in reach...

The Nivea Soft in travel size is a great thing to have. It's a nice light, yet rich cream, that'll get rid of any little flakes that can occur throughout the day, and you could use it as body lotion if needed (it's a small pot, so we're talking emergencies here).

The Clearasil Ultra is not a spot treatment that I particularly love, but it is somewhat efficient, so instead of throwing it out, I kept it in case I feel a zit coming up during the day (through makeup and everything it's not a miracle worker, but I feel it helps control the damage until I can treat it properly).

The Glysomed hand cream is actually not all that great, but it's quite handy! (I need to stop with the terrible puns...I'm sorry). I just always keep this tiny guy in my purse in case I forget my actual hand cream (which I do, a lot.)

I ALWAYS keep blotting sheets with me. They are VITAL. I prefer the Clean&Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets or any of the "blue plastic-y" kind, because I feel they absorb more oil, and don't mess with your makeup as much. Honestly, if you're gonna buy the paper kind, use toilet seat covers, yup they're the same!

The Maybelline Fit Me concealer is GREAT for touch ups. For some reason I don't reach for it as my main concealer (not sure why, no specific reason), but always keep it in my purse and it smooths over already applied makeup (even there's powder). So if midday or before a night out, I'm looking a little tired or blemishes are peaking through, this bad boy fixes me right up in no time!

The Benefit POREfessional Agent Zero Shine, is a great on the go powder. It comes with it's own little brush, so it's super convenient and it's fine powder that won't cake up your face and will diminish the appearance of your pores and keep you shine free. It's a great touch up powder, but again I always leave it in my bag, because that is not the product I reach for to top off my makeup.

I also like to keep one bold and one more neutral shade that can go with any look.  A bold lip can really make you look pulled together in an instant. The current shades with me at all times :

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Barcelona Nights

Quite frankly I haven't worn anything else on my lips lately!

Last but not least, a few boring essentials : A compact mirror, a hair comb (takes less space than a brush), and a little ziplock with a tooth brush, some toothpaste and floss...Cause YA NEVER KNOW! That Tzatziki is tasty but ain't nobody wanna smell that on your breath!

What do you guys have in your emergency kit?

Hope you enjoyed!

Talk to you soon,

- Val

PS: You can tell they live in my purse by how dirty they are, ha! Ew! Sorry...

  1. STOP BRAGGING, VALTRON!!! You've got a pretty good purse system going on here... I'm gonna follow your lead.

    1. I'M SO FANCY, YOU ALREADY KNOOOWW. I regretted that instantly. Yeah, the system works, and I will now add polysporin as per Laure's genius suggestion.
