Product Review | Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette

I finally caved in and got me the Chocolate Bar by Too FacedI know I'm super late to the party and they even have the Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar out now, but if you follow the Facebook page, you might have seen I posted a one day crazy deal HSN was having (Better Than Chocolate box set). Basically you got all this for the price of just the Chocolate Bar ($49US/59$C) :

You already know how much I love that mascara (if you didn't, well, hi! yes, favorite high end mascara) so it was kind of a no brainer. I will let you know if ever there's another good deal on this (and good beauty deals in general). I think that box set is exclusive to HSN regular price is $59. Unfortunately, it's currently out of stock.  You can ask to be alerted when it's back in stock or check on eBay, or you know calm your tits and just get the regular Chocolate Bar because seriously even just for the palette, it's worth splurging. Let's get into it shall we?

You get 16 shades (that HELLO? smell like freakin' hot chocolate) with a nice balance of shimmer and matte shadows. And how stinking cute is this packaging? A+ on this design/concept they got going ; well played Too Faced, well played.

Once your eyes get passed the gorgeousness of this palette, your nose takes over and like I mentioned it smells soooo good and chocolatey and sweet. That's because  the shadows are made with real cocoa extract, supposedly smearing all that antioxidant goodness  on our eyes gonna keep us young forever. But really, all you need to care about is that it smells good, the rest is marketing fancy talk.

The texture of these shadows is OFF THE HOOK! Like seriously girls, buttah, it's like buttah. They just glide on with a strong pigment and not too much fallout or powder going all over the place when you dip your brush in. Seriously, I was impressed, possibly more than I had been with the Naked palettes from Urban Decay (I still love you). It's not that they're better, they're just different, but good different you know? Ok I'm blabbering, let me show you!

Look at this color pay off! It is to die for and you really get a nice array of shades to play with ; you have your bronze, neutral, typical "naked" shades and then you get that fun purple and these burgundy, maroon shades. Really, there's sooo many options, especially the way I broke them down, it's like 2 palettes in 1, but you can also mix them all. Endless possibilities!

Also, another quick comparison with Urban Decay, you get a wider shade selection with this one and at a lower cost... You get 12 shadows in the Naked palettes and 16 in the Chocolate Bars (but amount for amount of actual product, you only get 0.02oz more, just to clarify!). The price is still a bit steep, but at least it's cheaper and better value than Urban Decay?

Overall, I'm beyond happy with this palette, I don't own anything similar. I picked up this one instead of the Semi Sweet because I thought the colors would be nicer with my fair skin...

Bottom line: 5/5 would highly recommend!

Have you guys tried either?

Ok, smelling all that sweetness has made me hungry! Gotta run!

Talk to you soon,

-Val
