Product Review | Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette

This one goes out to all my color lovers out there!

We all know that nudes and mattes are all the rage lately, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm a fan. I'm comfortable in nude. I feel polished in nude. I feel sexy in nude. I'm still talking about eyeshadows here...Truth is, I haven't really played with colors much since high school. A pop of color here and there sure, but I've always shied away from very colorful palettes.

But something about this Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette kept making me wonder; should I go for it? I love the name, I love the colors, I love the packaging! Being on a lucky streak with the brand (Chocolate Bar Palette, Natural Matte Palette) and wanting to branch out, I took the plunge. Look at this beaut'!

This palette is the exact same format as the Natural Matte, so again great for traveling and same dealio, you get 9 shades (3 big, 6 small) for $36/45$C. They are also "separated" in 3 looks, by row. So here are the swatches for each "look" :
Sweet & Spicy Rock Candy, Macaron, Malted Milk Ball (swatched right to left)

Sugar Plums : Strawberry Ice, Sugared Violet, Blackberry (swatched right to left)

I think it's a really fun palette that's actually very versatile. It doesn't need to be overwhelming, you can still create a toned down look. But if your heart desires you can go all out 80s and just be bold! Or you know, something in between...

As per the Too Faced standard, the shadows are bomb; creamy buttery perfection, super blendable, pigmented, long lasting...Ya know the drill! Oh, except I did have some issues with Malted Milk Ball at first. It's just sooo glittery and it's that chunky glitter, and the base shadow is not as pigmented, so it was kind of hard to swatch (you can see it's kinda messy). The effect on the eye is gorgeous though, but it's more glittery than dark, if that makes sense? I think beyond showing you the palette and swatches there isn't much to say about it because I've been all about this brand lately!

Bottom line; Yes I would HIGHLY recommend it. Give color a chance!

Bonus : Here's a look I created using this palette. Let me know if you'd like the details (either in another post or on the Facebook page or something!), I do have Malted Milk Ball in the crease so can see how it applies!

What do you think? Will you dare a bit of color or stick with more nude palettes?

Talk to you soon!

  2. Thank you!! :) Yes it's a great palette, I thought I wouldn't be that excited about it, or wouldn't quite know what to do with it, but it's insanely versatile and wearable! I don't think you'll regret this purchase :P
