Brand Overview | Colourpop Cosmetics

Holy Toledo! I don't think I've ever been this excited about a brand, like ever. Colourpop Cosmetics has worked it's way into my heart in about 0.5 seconds, absolutely ridiculous. And this love affair is completely justified and rational, trust me, I'll prove it to ya!

I'm gonna start ahead by saying that this brand is stupid affordable, yes less expensive than your favorite drugstore brands (most likely), so don't worry if you get tempted to splurge after this post ;)

The have lipsticks (lippie stix), lip liners and eyeshadows (5$ each) and also offer blushes,  highlighters and bronzers ($8 each). See, crazy cheap! But you know what's not cheap? The quality of their products.

First the Lippie Stix, I love that they are skinny! Makes for a more precise application, and until your product is done at that! The scent is extremely sweet, which I like, but might be a bit overwhelming for some people. I got cream & matte finishes so I can only vouch for those, but they are pretty comfortable on the lips (not really hydrating, but also not drying) and last for days! Well obviously not really, but the staying power was really impressive, and not just for a $5 lipstick, for a lipstick in general, so I'm pretty sure that's unbeatable.

Now their eyeshadows, blushes,  highlighters and bronzers all have this same unique texture that really is what this brand is all about! It's sorta like this whipped cream/powder combination, kinda hard to describe, slightly reminiscent of the Maybelline Bouncy Blush but less spongy? It just comes off as beautifully creamy & super pigmented. Needless to say, I am obsessed.

I was super impressed by how pigmented the eye shadows were, I mean for a split second I thought we would have another Color Molten Fiasco, but no no. And you know I'm not a fan of single eye shadows beyond the Maybelline Color Tattoos, but these, shit, I need all of them. AND FOR FIVE DOLLARS! That's cheaper than the Color Tattoos...So that's really all that needs to be said. Also please note that the shimmery ones, offer a beautiful glitzy look on the eye with no glitter fall out. These eye shadows also perform very well for a very long time. LOVE. I only got 3 shades (so far) ; I Heart This, Hustle and Birthday Girl (which was free with my order cause it was their birthday but WOW).

The blushes are god sent. I mean, not powdery or chalky, won't disturb your foundation, they just looks so lovely on and super natural. Like it makes me not want to use other blushes, which also makes me question my existence, but you know that's neither here nor there! It's ALL I have been using on my cheeks, and all I want to use. The bronzer has the exact same texture and effect on the skin which I love and think these babies are the perfect combo for summer!

I have a hard time finding highlighters that I like, as far as color and texture is concerned. The powders don't always show up how I want, the liquids disturb my makeup so I can only use them for a subtle sparkle UNDER my foundation, which in theory is fine, I mean I don't want to blind anyone!

But THESE! Oh-Em-Zee-God. I die. Well I die for Monster, it gives me a GLOW girl, yes white girls can glow and not in a "you're so pale you glow in the dark like a ghost glow" way, like in a "healthy complexion glow that catches the light like what? Girl you look fine! IT'S MONSTER". I think I had too much coffee...

Wisp I picked up not realizing it would be THAT gold, so I can't really use it as a cheek highlighter but I've used it as an eye shadow and I'm thinking I can pair it with the bronzer as well and really pump up the glow!

Colourpop Cosmetics is exclusively sold online, and offers free shipping for all U.S. orders of $30 or more. They do ship to Canada, Australia & New Zealand as well! I love that on their website there are swatches of most of their products and on different skin tones (genius I know), you can also follow them on Instagram for more pics! Oh, and you also get a hand written note with each order, which I think is really cute and adds a nice personal touch. A+ on the customer service!

Bonus: I did a quick look this weekend using all 3 eyeshadows, the Prenup blush, the Monster highlighter, the Paradise Cove bronzer and a light hand of Lumière on the lips! The highlight is kind of hard to see on still flash photography but it gives such a pretty glow!
