Skin Treats | GLAMGLOW Dupe?
Wednesday, October 28, 2015
My skin has not been on point lately. Could be the weather, the stress, the new prescription, the all over life hygiene but as I've mentioned, I've been breaking out more than usual lately.
For someone who has struggled with really bad acne in the past, any breakout, feels just as traumatic. I know I have to be patient and gentle with my skin but sometimes it's hard!! Must. Resist. Temptation. Don't irritate, don't over dry, DON'T PICK.
Whilst I kept my skincare routine relatively unchanged to not distress my skin furthermore, I did want to incorporate something that was targeted to my current issue. Something more powerful, well efficient, you know?
I heard through the grapevine that the Sephora Collection Purifying & Mattifying Mud Mask was a decent dupe for the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Mask. For a $50 price difference, I decided to give it a try!
Product Review | Peter Thomas Roth Acne-Clear Invisible Dots
Wednesday, October 21, 2015
I was randomly browsing the Sephora website (Super dangerous! Never casually browse, know what you came there to get, or they will get all your money!), and I fell upon these, while experiencing a random breakout of unknown cause.
I usually get hormonal breakouts or reaction to products, which I know how to deal with ; gentle skin care routine and benzoyl peroxide or honey treatments. But this breakout was different, my guess is seasonal weather changes and consequently, allergies. Anyways, all this to say, my usual treatments just weren't as effective and I was ready to try something new.
The Peter Thomas Roth Acne-Clear Invisible Dots come in packs of 24 ($12) or 72 ($30). Though the bigger pack is better value, I opted for the 24 dots as I just wanted to test them out. The pack contains 2 sets of 12 transparent adhesive patches that come in two sizes (as you can see bellow). Packed with salicylic acid, tea tree oil and hyaluronic acid they help reduce and heal blemishes and clarify the skin with out causing dryness or irritation.
Product Review | Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation
Monday, October 19, 2015
Oh man...
If you follow the blog's Facebook page (click and like!) you may have seen that I posted a sorta sad little "first impressions" on this foundation. I wasn't planning on it, but I flipped my camera to take a selfie (don't judge me) and I was just horrified by what I saw haha
The Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation is one that has gotten a lot of mixed reviews since it's release. I was convinced it would work for me and decided to give it a try. It's marketed as this super awesome foundation that "improves skin's appearance every minute you’re in it. With the antioxidant power of Actyl-C, a more durable form of vitamin C." Sounds great right? Well it's not...

Fall Makeup Look | Burgundy Grunge
Wednesday, October 14, 2015
Today's post is pretty straight forward! Posted this look on Instagram (again, if you don't follow, click here!) and the response was great so I figured I'd share it with you guys. Better quality and all the deets so you can recreate this look or maybe just use it as inspiration for your own thang. You do you boo!
I was inspired by all the pretty fall colors and the 90's trend so I'll just call this look "Burgundy Grunge" (all the details are listed below) :

Champagne or Beer? | Benefit Erase Paste vs. NYX Dark Circle Concealer
Monday, October 12, 2015
Ouh I love whenever I can bring new contenders to the ring!
If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't, you should, click and follow!), you may have seen I picked up the NYX Dark Circle Concealer a few weeks back.
Aaaand if you've been following this blog for a while you might also know that I have listed the Benefit Erase Paste as one of my most repurchased products and I looove that stuff.
Now, I was particularly excited to see if the NYX concealer could possibly stand up to my Benefit fav.
Product Review | theBalm theManizer Sisters Palette
Wednesday, October 7, 2015
Do you want to fake beautiful, healthy, glowing skin? This magical trio is for you!
theBalm's Betty-Lou Manizer has been a long time favorite bronzer of mine. Even though I usually reach for matte bronzers, this has such a beautiful subtle sheen that doesn't emphasize and texture or pores. It's not really something you'd use for contouring but more so to warm up the skin.
My latest obsession with highlighters left me longing for the Mary-Lou Manizer and that's when I fell upon theManizer Sisters Palette. HOLY TOLEDO! Talk about great value.
September 2015 Favorites
Monday, October 5, 2015
Hello October! We are finally in fall prime time, which for me means (somewhat) cooler weather, the best fashion, and the best dramatic lips! Here are some of my favorites since this past month;
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Palais Royal - I owned forever ago, and it was this incredible, deep sangria, vampy shade that somehow suited everyone. It was real love. Then my dog ate it and pooped purple for days. I was devasted and needed to grieve. When I felt that cool breeze hit the air, and the smell of pumpkin spice everything, I knew it was time to give love a chance and re-order this bad boy. An all time favorite.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Tulle - I know I mentioned this last month as well but I just can't get enough! This dusty mauve burgundy is the perfect "90s shade" for fall. I've been loving it especially for times when I don't really feel like going all out with the makeup. This lip and some mascara ; my face looks alive, made up and polished and I am good to go! I do feel it would be even better with some winged liner...but you know...Ain't nobody got time for that. OK! I'm lazy...I'll TRY to make time for it. (Click here for swatches and review of the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips)
