Perfect Base | DiorSkin Forever Perfect Makeup + Ever Wear Extreme Perfection & Hold Makeup Base

I've hesitated talking about these two products because they're a bit on the pricier side. But since using them, they have not failed me, and continue to perform highly, through different skin issues and rising temperatures.

If you're like me, and your skin is less than perfect, but you still like to keep things natural, these very well might be worth the investment...

The foundation offers a range of 16 shades ; from  010 Ivory to 080 Ebony. Therefore, the color selection is pretty impressive, especially compared to drugstore foundations. That being said, I'm in the lightest shade (010 Ivory) and I still find it's not an exact PERFECT match, but it's pretty damn close (it's a tad warm for my skin) and with the right application, it's barely noticeable.

It gives a nice medium to full coverage and looks incredibly natural. Not too dewy, not too matte, just perfect. It holds up insanely well, and doesn't make me break out. It also has an SPF of 35, so you don't have to worry about applying sunscreen beforehand. I've tried many ways to apply it, and I find it works best with a buffing brush (the Real Techniques Buffing Brush from the Core Collection is bomb for a flawless application).

I like to use one thin layer (about the amount pictured above) and then spot conceal where needed for the most natural results. Therefore, all the redness and imperfections are covered but my freckles still show through, which I quite like.

I rarely talk about packaging unless it makes the product hard to use. But let's face it, this packaging is LUXURIOUS. Makes me feel like a Old Hollywood Glam Star when I use it. It has a nice, sleek, frosted glass bottle, with a user friendly pump which is always a huge plus.

I thought it'd be important to note that it does have a light floral scent, but I have somewhat sensitive skin and it hasn't caused me any issues...

As for the primer, I'm going to come right out and say it, it is the BEST primer I have ever used! I have combination skin, and tend to use a hydrating primer and then a pore refining one on my T-Zone. This bad boy, hydrates AND shrinks my pores, on top of helping the longevity of my makeup. It has a slight pink tint, that helps even out the skin tone a bit, which means in theory it helps you use LESS foundation. OH! And it also has an SPF of 20 so this combo is really great for summer (or all year round, because SPF is important! Said the girl with a million freckles...I'm working on it!!). And even though, both products offer SPF protection, I haven't had any mishaps as far as white casts and such are concerned.

Here are some before & after pics and since I love you guys so much, and I know this is a judgement free zone (or so I tell myself), I waited until my skin was a bit of a mess to show you just how well these guys perform! #keepingitreal :

Finish : 5/5 A foundation that offers really good coverage and still looks natural (yes even in broad day light!). That's the dream!
Color match : 4/5   Like I said, I'm in the lightest shade and it's still a touch too dark, but manageable, so I had to knock off a point.
Performance/Longevity : 5/5 This is meant to be a long wear foundation and it really is. Nothing lasts for more than 8 hours on me, but this holds up better than most foundations and will get you through the day. When it starts to break down a bit, it doesn't make you look like a mess, it's just a bit faded and you might have to blot to keep things fresh.
Price : 3/5 I know, I know...If only it were cheaper...BUT, I mean it's worth every penny. It's just...URGH.

Final score : 4.3/5

Bottom line, I highly recommend you save up your dolla dolla bills and instead of spending them at the strip club (I ain't judging), invest in these amazing products. If you're still unsure, try to get samples, that's how I got suckered into it...But seriously, no regrets!

What foundation are you loving for the summer time?

Talk to you soon!
-Xoxo, Val
